Picture
Since 2005, Firoz Ladak had led the strategy, international development, and financial management of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations. He spearheaded the transition from a longstanding tradition of charity to venture philanthropy driven by impact. Collaborating closely with the Rothschild family, he has helped to transform their legacy into a formidable force for change. He has managed more than 100 programs across the arts, entrepreneurship, health, and education through a network of 10 foundations that improve the lives of thousands of beneficiaries in Europe, the United States, West Africa, South Asia, and Israel.

Firoz draws from his solid investment banking experience at BNP Paribas and Société Générale in mergers & acquisitions, project finance, and the setup of public-private partnerships, particularly in emerging markets. He is steering the move of capital portfolios towards impact and sustainable investments driven by social, environmental, and governance guidelines (ESG). In 2013, Firoz founded ERFIP, a unique circle of families from emerging economies that harnesses knowledge and collaboration to catalyze sustainable development.

He has been a board member of various foundations, including the Edmond de Rothschild Foundations network; Hôpital Fondation Adolphe de Rothschild, a university hospital specializing in ophthalmology and neuroscience in Paris; Admical, France’s leading think tank for corporate philanthropy; and Carnegie Hall in New York.

Firoz holds a BA in economics/political science from McGill University and completed an MPhil in Oriental Studies from the University of Oxford as an Aga Khan Foundation Scholar. He is a French and Canadian citizen and resides in Geneva.
