conclusion
The Foundation’s projects allows the Chandaria family to create a legacy not only of healthier and better educated Kenyans, but also to form a new generation of business leaders with the motivation and skills to meet societal challenges. Chancellor of two universities, and supporter of many others, at one institution, Manu, on behalf of the family, has been able to stipulate that students can only graduate if, during their three years of study, they spend three months undertaking community service. “When a student spends three months working in the slums of Nairobi,” he says, “then he begins to understand what life is all about.”
